Welcome to Lydlynch Infant School
CHILDREN STARTING SCHOOL - SEPTEMBER 2015
We are delighted that you have been offered a place at Lydlynch for your child to join Year R in September 2015. You may have noticed letters to our existing parents (please see under Newsletters - Spring Term section of the website) which outlines a proposed collaboration between Lydlynch and Hazel Wood Infant schools. This is initially for one year and I will be leading Lydlynch as Executive Headteacher.
Both schools will remain the school you chose to suit your individual child and will continue to have their own unique identity. There will be real benefits to the children through shared working and collaboration and it is an exciting time to start school in Totton.
We look forward to seeing you in the near future - in the meantime please do get in touch if you have any further questions,

Message from the Headteacher
We are delighted that you are considering sending your child to Lydlynch Infant School. We are very proud of our school and the wonderful learning opportunities it offers.
Our aim is to ensure that Lydlynch Infant School is caring and welcoming, where all members of the school community feel safe, secure and valued. The personal development of pupils is at the centre of all that we do. We want our children to grow into independent learners who are caring and confident and ready to become responsible citizens of the future.
Governors and staff are delighted that Ofsted recognise our caring ethos and the part that it plays in the children’s personal and academic progress. The Ofsted inspection report of September 2012 recognised us as a ‘good’ school and stated that ‘pupils enjoy school, feel safe there and get on well together’.
We know that any successful school depends upon positive partnership between parents, pupils, the headteacher, staff and governors.
We greatly value the support we receive from parents and hope that you will join us in this partnership to ensure the continued success of all.
On behalf of the whole school community I would like to welcome you to our school and look forward to meeting you and your family.
